Panhard of France is marketing the VBR armored recon vehicle to export customers. This is basically a slightly enlarged version of the VBL, which could be considered as the French analogue of the Humvee. The heavier VBR has better armor and can carry over four thousand pounds of mission equipment, including five soldiers. There is enough margin to externally mount a remotely-fired heavy machinegun or light auto-cannon on the roof.--Stephen V Cole
