Beal Aerospace has completed a deal to launch its BA-2 heavy lift booster from a new spaceport to be built in Guyana, about 500 miles west of the French spaceport in French Guiana. The new spaceport will cost about $750 million. US launchers have also negotiated rights to launch from the Brazilian spaceport at Alcantara. All three facilities, being closer to the equator, can get more lift out of the same boosters than Cape Canaveral in Florida.--Stephen V Cole
