March 31, 2010: After 19 years, Canada is ending its peacekeeping operations in Bosnia. Canada was part of the initial force of 60,000 peacekeepers, from over a dozen nations. During nearly two decades, some 40,000 Canadian troops have served in Bosnia. But all nations have been reducing their forces in Bosnia. By 1998, strength was down to 32,000, and by 2003, it was 18,000. There are still about 200 American peacekeepers in Bosnia.
